Location : Steenberg Country Hotel is situated on the Steenberg Wine Estate in Constantia, the oldest wine farm in the country. It was the first farm in South Africa to be owned by a woman, Catherina Ustings (reportedly the 'other woman' in the married Simon Van Der Stel’s life). Today the farm is still in operation, and much of the wine produced from its vineyards is exported to Europe. The farm also houses a championship golf course - an 18-hole wonder sculpted upon the slopes of Steenberg Mountain. With the farm, golf course and manicured gardens as its surroundings, the Steenberg Country Hotel is a welcome escape from the hustle and bustle of city life.

The Steenberg Country Hotel feels quite corporate and is an ideal for use as a conference and business meeting venue. Security at the gate is very tight, ensuring that you will feel safe and secure once you arrive at the hotel. The drive through the vineyards up to the hotel sets the tone for the hotel and its historical setting. Steenberg is also an ideal starting point for a visit to some of the Cape's other attractions. The warm waters and white sands beaches of False Bay and the spectacular views of Chapman's Peak are a few minutes away, a drive to Cape Point Nature Reserve takes only 45 minutes, the centre of cosmopolitan CapeTown, South Africa's mother city, is less than half an hour.

Being an old wine cellar, cosy dining alcoves have been created in the original vats. Both the main dining area and the bar feature fire-places.

A section of the original wine storage areas have been turned into small wine cellars, keeping the more than 80 different wines on offer at optimum temperatures. These mini cellars form part of the restaurant and can be viewed whilst dining, giving guests the feeling of dining in a cellar.
